I Wish I Were Near You

This body of work engages me on two levels. Firstly it reveals so much about the uneasy relationship we have with the world and secondly, I am very conscious of the emotions I experience when making this work. Feelings of loneliness and fear when photographing have a huge effect on me, and the images in a way become manifestations of these feelings. However, I am always conscious of the contradiction of being a voyeur – that I’m not a familiar part of the landscape and that I don’t participate within the surroundings I choose to photograph.
